Greaser, Ghouls & Gals P.2

So eventually, an idea begins to take shape, and after enough practice I began laying pencils down on the canvas. At this point everything starts to come together.

At this point my confidence is building and I continued moving forward, although I should mention that I made at least a dozen changes between this point and the final product.

Next: the finale' and the goods.

Greasers, Ghouls and Gals P.1

Okay so in January I was approached by a local Comic Book writer who was putting together an art show to promote the release of his Comic: Motor City. The theme of the art show was Greasers, Ghouls and Gals, Since I was already somewhat familiar with the book, I knew that It had a sort of Rockabilly-Monster vibe to it, So I came up with a concept and a name : Attack of the Rockabilly Zombies...From Mars! So awesome I had a concept, the hardest part was getting my idea from my head onto the actual page.

So the way I begin any project is to just do a bunch of free form sketches until an idea takes shape:

There's nothing really special about me doing this, but it does get all "bad ideas" out of the way to make room for the actual concept to come out.

Next: Laying down pencils.
